Bill calls for a national conference to be held in 1979 to focus attention on the major issues and humanities policy in the U.S. The purpose of the Conference shall be to help develop a climate in which use of the humanities can flourish, to formulate an assessment of problems and issues relating to the humanities, and to develop recommendations relating to strengthening the humanities in all parts of the Nation.
