Abstract:

Reporting on corporate and private foundation giving for the state of Minnesota in 2002, this article finds that Minnesota's largest foundations experienced their first ever multi-year decrease in grantmaking since 1994. The decline comes at a time when charities are asking for more funds. However, according to the Minnesota Council on Foundations, grantmakers have hopes to increase giving in 2004.
