Abstract:

In summer 2004, the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management (Bayer Center) conducted a survey to find out how nonprofit organizations in western Pennsylvania use technology to accomplish their missions. The survey reprised research originally conducted in 2000 and 2002 so that the Bayer Center could document trends and changes over a four-year period. The 2004 survey was based on 257 responses from a diverse sample of organizations versus 266 responses in 2002 and 175 responses in 2000. This document reports the outcomes of this comparative study including information about the responding organizations, technology policy, computer systems, and perceived needs for improvement in technology management.
