Performing Arts Institutions and Young People; Lincoln Center's Study: The Hunting of the Squiggle

Author: Schubart, Mark

Publication Year: 1971

Media Type: Report

Summary:

Abstract:

In sum, the authors of this Study wish to emphasize that they began with the premise that Lincoln Center exists as a resource for young people (as well as adults) which can and should take an active role in the education of young people but is not an educational agency responsible for the total educational needs of young people. Other people and other institutions have examined and are examining these broader areas. The focus of this Study is on the performing arts, and its search is a search for the most effective and exciting way an arts institution and the people of which it is comprised can enrich the lives of young Americans.
