Abstract:

The collection of essays in this issue, expand on themes and topics such as creativity and innovation, playful experimentation, aesthetic literacy, the role of education, artists careers, and dreams for the future. Taken as a whole the authors illustrate, both in theory and in practice, how creativity can be understood.

The first essay considers the legacy of 18th-century inventor Richard Arkwright and how to re-establish the importance of creativity and innovation at all levels of education. The second essay explores new pathways, including new creative parallel spaces in science and arts, for creativity in education. The third essay is an examination of the working artists in Rhode Island. The final essay considers the myriad complexities of copyright issues with regards to digitized imagery of art objects.
