Abstract:

Papers presented at a meeting on the development of cultural policies in Europe held in Helsinki, Finland from December 8-12, 1980 by the Finnish National Commission for UNESCO in cooperation with UNESCO under the Participation Programme.

Eight working sessions were devoted to the agenda.... The purpose of the meeting was to study the prospects for cultural development in Europe in the 1980s. The framework for the discussions was provided by an analysis of the implementation of the EUROCULT recommendations (of the Inter-national Conference on Cultural Policies in Europe, Helsinki, June 19-28, 1972) and of the development of cultural policies and programs in European Member States and their international cultural co-operation in the 1970s.
