Abstract:

Among the classic forms of knowledge accepted in education systems all over the world, the only form of knowledge that is not compulsory in the Israeli education system is the aesthetic form. In Israel, a current debate among the designers of education policy is related to the philosophy of the structure of learning. Despite the general feeling of satisfaction on the policymaking level that the arts education field is flourishing in the education system, it is necessary to cope with the more fundamental question of how as a culture we are to view aesthetics and how this will influence the structure of arts education studies.
