Abstract:

Cultural Resources Development: Planning Survey and Analysis has aimed to highlight many possibilities for fuller benefit of cultural resources to the people of New York. The Commission reviewed fifty-six State agencies for this study with two major objectives:

  1. To identify how each State agency, through its various programs, might assist the arts and the artist.
  2. To identify how the arts and the artist might contribute to the State's agency mandates and therefore better life in New York State.

The report outlines multi-directions and makes numerous recommendations for concrete action which could be taken to support public responsibility for cultural resources. The recommendations are based on current legislative mandates, agency operational policies, and State governmental structure. (p. 0.1)
