Abstract:

The task of this paper will be to analyze the prospects of cultural development and policies in Europe in the eight decade of our century. The fact that it deals with future problems results from the author's conviction that in this decade cultural development as well as the policies of all the European countries will face problems more difficult than those of the 70's. It is evident that the more numerous the difficulties in development, the greater the responsibility of cultural policies. Such policies require better understanding of the contemporary situation, its resources and aims as well as greater motivation and consideration. What is more, we may expect that to solve the problems we face, cultural as well as economic and political, a higher level of international cooperation will be needed, both at the regional and global level.
