Abstract:

In this article, I discuss the process of examining, implementing, and assessing from one possible theoretical prospective, critical pedagogical theory (CPT) and place the theory within one possible practical framework, the National Standards for Dance Education. The purpose is to expose dance educators to one contemporary learning theory affecting curriculum development in the school environment and to show how this theoretical model connects to a popular framework specific to dance education.
