The broad objective of such a survey was to develop an overall picture of the amount and types of compensation paid to arts administrators in various field of the arts. The statistical information in this study was reported in a questionnaire mailed to more than 2,400 not-for profit [nonprofit] arts organization throughout the United States.

The broad objective of such a survey was to develop an overall picture of the amount and types of compensation paid to arts administrators in various field of the arts. The statistical information in this study was reported in a questionnaire mailed to more than 2,400 not-for profit [nonprofit] arts organization throughout the United States. More than 800 organizations representing 2,200 arts administrators provided useful responses to the survey questions. (Introduction, p.1)
