Abstract:

This report comprises the final component of the project program. Chapter titles correspond to the format of panel discussions during the two-day conference. Some may feel that this is an overly-lengthy tome, and we may well have erred for lack of economy. However, we felt that in addition to documenting the work of others, the identification and examination of the diverse network of public policy issues concerned with live/work space is the most significant contribution this project offers. Some of these issues are: housing, employment, displacement (), new technologies, energy conservation, neighborhood economic revitalization, ecology and changing lifestyles. Others will build upon our effort, perhaps focusing more sharply upon specific lines of inquiry indicated in this report. (p. 2)
