OVERVIEW

Rise Wilson began The Laundromat Project in 1999 to bring art to her neighborhood laundromat in Harlem NY. She set up tables in front of the laundromat and invited people to create art. The project serves communities in NY and offers a chance for artmaking to strengthen the community.
