OVERVIEW

The Guild is a paid apprenticeship program within Mural Arts Philadelphia. Projects within the program work with those who were formerly incarcerated or on probation to learn job skills through painting murals, carpentry and mosaics with aims to reduce recidivism and enhance employment readiness.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

PROJECT EVALUATION

On the projects webpage it was reported that 84% of graduates from The Guild are not reincarcerated within one year of completing the program and 78% of graduates are employed or in school after the program. The effectiveness appears to be measured by the recidivism rate amongst participants.
