OVERVIEW

With the Novel Voices: Distance Learning program, PMHU is launching the next phase of The Novel Voices Refugee Aid Project - a project which was created in 2018 by the Carr-Petrova Duo (now an Ambassador Ensemble of PMHU) with the aim of giving voice and visibility through music and film to the lives and struggles of both local and international refugee communities, and to encourage audiences and artists alike to become connected and involved. From 2018 to 2020, The Novel Voices Refugee Aid Project brought free, interactive classical music concerts and workshops to displaced populations while increasing awareness of and raising support for both U.S.-based and international refugee-aid programs.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

With Novel Voices: Distance Learning, PMHU will be virtually returning to the places and people the original Novel Voices team visited by offering weekly digital music lessons, masterclasses, and teacher-training workshops to both young refugee musicians and as well as music organizations with limited access and resources.
